💿 Hi, it’s a pleasure for us to have on Hardrockheavymetal STEVE VAWAMAS of ATHLANTIS !! Welcome!!

Greetings to all Hardrockheavymetal staff and thanks for the opportunity you give me in doing this interview ... it's a great pleasure ..

💿 On Feb 2nd was out your new album, the 6th, entitled..02.02.2020!

We had the chance to listening to in preview and we were really impressed!

Can you tell us somethin'about its composition process and and style?

The composition of the songs takes place in my studios I Steve Vawamas Studio ... I take care of everything I write texts and everything happens as a pre-production ... then I deliver to the various musicians who will resonate the pieces on the final disc ... in this case I called Chris Parisi on drums , Davide Dell'Orto on vocals, Pier Gonella on guitar and Stefano Molinari on keyboards…. instead Stefano Galleano of Ruxt wrote and played the ballad ...

Let's say that the style of my pieces comes from the feelings of the moment I feel ... in fact I don't like being labeled as power metal or hard rock other influences ... I do heavy metal ... if then the pieces recall something like a genre already played in the past by other bands surely the thing is not wanted.

💿 Can you tell us somethin’about the birth and the name of your band? Which artists or bands impressed you the most as musician?

The name of the band was born from the cover of the first disc of the Atlantantis which depicted the battle between two horsemen, one from the sea and one from the ground ... obviously I could not leave the original Atlantis name and then I added the h to make it original ... in 2001 the bands of the moment they were helloween gammaray hammerfall and all that power strand that has always fascinated me but let's say that many bands have influenced me outside of metal ... Pink Floyd, Marillion, Pendragon etc etc

💿 Six album out and a new line up with three new members..Can you explain the matter of these choices?

Every time I record one of my records I can choose new elements or confirm musicians who gave me guarantees on the previous record ... Pier Gonella let's say that it appears in almost all of my records also because my studio collaborates with its Music Art studios ... I like it change singers to differentiate the style a bit and so also for drummers ... the only thing that doesn't change is the bass player..ahahhaha

💿 There's a great return of format such as vinyl and cassette. What's your thinking about these classic format..love for vintage or is it impossible a future for music outside digital?

I am in favor of the return of the vinyl or the cassette the important thing that the music is listened to and supported..the means by which listening to our music can be any ... as long as it is listened to by more and more people ...

💿 Inside your songs what’s the role of lyrics in the composition process? Words follow music or vice versa?

I always write the lyrics at the end of the musical composition .... I listen to the music and the words come out according to the sensations I feel listening to the atmosphere that the music gives me ... not a simple task but I try to do my best as always !!!

💿 Can you tell us somethin’ about your live plans to promote your new work?

Athlantis is a side project and as such I don't think we will go out live ... let's say it is a studio project and it will remain so ... I like to waste my time in the studio composing new music instead of going live
