💿 Hi, it's a pleasure for us to have on Hardrockheavymetal Jesper Lindbergh of SARAYASIGN... Welcome!

Can you introduce us the current line-up of the band?

There has been some changes to the line up which will be announced soon, but on the debut album "Throne Of Gold" the lineup was as follows:

Jesper Lindbergh: Drums, rhythm guitar, lopps and soundscapes

Daniel Lykkeklev: Bass

Stefan Nykvist: Lead and backing vocals

Andreas Axelsson-Hofgren: Keyboard

Daniel Blohm: Lead guitar

💿 On June 24th, 2022 was out your new full-length, entitled THRONE OF GOLD, positive received on our pages. Can you tell us somethin'about its composition process and style?

In short, most of the times it starts with a riff or a melody line.

Most of the concept of the world of Saraya has already been written by yours truly, so then comes the whole process about mapping a certain song or riff idea to the mood and story within the concept and making it work. A lot of ideas doesn´t even get that far.

💿 What's the role of lyrics in your songs?

The story telling of our songs is one of the most important things.

It has to work as a standalone story, and even yourself can make it your own, depending on the situation you are in.

I believe you can make your own meaning of all the songs even if you´re not interested in the deeper meaning and story within the conecpt. Which I think is a good thing.

💿 In your early times which artists influenced you the most? Can you tell us somethin'about the birth of the band?

For me, bands like Queensryche, Dio, Dream Theater and Kiss were the big ones growing up.

I met most of the guys in Sarayasign over 30 years ago, and we started way back in 80's.

The concept of Sarayasign was born in late 2020.

💿 THRONE OF GOLD is out on Melodic Passion. Can you tell us somethin' about the relationship with them?

It is run by Christian Liljegren (Narnia, Flames OF Fire) and we have a very tight collaboration with him, and he has now taken the roll as our Manager.

💿 Here at HARDROCKHEAVYMETAL we are strong defender of classic format. Love for vintage or isn't there a future outside digital?

We will always out out physical CD's and Vinyl.

The digital age is here and we can't really do anything about it, but nothing beats the feeling of the real thing.

There's something special about opening up a CD and looking through the artwork and lyrics while you are listening to the music.

Nothing beats the oldschool way.

💿 We love the cover of THRONE OF GOLD. Can you tell us somethin'about?

It is truly a work of art and beautifully done by a very talented Russian artist called Vladimir Manyukhin.

💿 Can you tell us somethin'about your next projects?

Big things are happening in the Sarayasign camp.

Can't really say too much at this point, but we are currently writing and recording album number two, and I start recording drums in the studio Nordic Sound Lab in Skara, Sweden in mid October.
