💿 Hi, it’s a pleasure for us to have on Hardrockheavymetal PETER ANDERSSON of MEAN STREAK ..Welcome!!

​ 💿 On July 17th will be out your new full-length entitled EYE OF THE STORM, positive received on our pages. Can you tell us somethin'about its composition process and style?

Well we try to keep things ”within the frame” meaning that we stick to our guns when it comes to writing classic metal that we like. Although some development is of course needed but

Mean Streak is about old school metal that makes your neck wanna go banging ! This time me and Andy wrote most of the songs on our own and then arranged together with the other guys

In the reversing studio. Since I was the producer I had the final call, but there weren’t really too much fighting this time around.

On at least two songs we cowrote in my studio, we haven’t really been doing that since the metal slave days. It was fun !

I did the lyrics and then we brought Max onboard and started to toss the ideas around. After that we tracked it and then I went off to New York to have the mix done.

​💿 In your early times as musician which artists or bands influenced you the most?

In my case I would say Thin Lizzy. But I remember us growing up listen to Priest, Maiden Accept etc. I think you can still hear the echoes from those bands in our music.

​💿 How is difficult promote a new work after the lockdown drama? Do you believe can you return soon on stage?

Actually I think that the media is a little bit more cool in these times, before corona I got a zillion invitations to live events that I wasn’t really interested in but now I think its a bit more quiet so new albums can get a little more attention. But of course I miss touring, a lot!

I guess when we have a vaccin that works we can start look in to it again, let’s just hope that all the small metal clubsout there can survive this time so they will still be in the business after this!

​💿 Here at HARDROCKHEAVYMETAL we are strong defender of classic format..love for vintage or isn't there a future outside digital?

I personally hate digital. I don’t like Spotify or other streaming shit. I think they are selling something that don’t even belong to them in the first place ! And ”pay” bullshit money back. I understand that

you need to be up there but I would have preferred it the old way with CD or vinyl.

In these days when many band are buying streams and likes and views it really docent tell you anything about a bands status.

​💿 Can you tell us somethin about the great cover of new album?

That is Andre from Blekkmark production who has made that, he is fantastic to work with ! We wanted our ”She-devil” once again, other than that and the fact that we wanted a slightly darker

cover, he had no instructions. We are very happy with the result.

​💿 The new album will be out on EL PUERTO RECORDS..Can you tell us somethin about relationships with them?

Axel at Rock n´Growl who is our management suggested them to us.

We are very happy with them and it feels like they are truly devoted to bring classic metal to the world !

Passion and ambition is everything in the metal business today and the seams to have both !
