💿 Hi, it’s a pleasure for us to have on Hardrockheavymetal SCARLETT MONASTYRSKI of Sabïre! Welcome!! Hey, thanks for having me! 💿 It's fresh your experience in Europe and, especially, at KEEP IT TRUE Festival 2019..can you tell somethin' about this experience? It was great! We met a lot of nice people, and made a ton of new friends. It was especially good to talk to the fans.
We had a lot of people say how much our music and our performance on the day meant to them.
We all really did feel at home there.

💿 Here at Hardrockheavymetal we have the chance to listening a tons of music but honestly, I was impressed with your sound..Finally, among others great bands, a stunning one with music that flows naturally, without the limit of a genre..someone able to take risks!! Thank-you for the kind words. Look, we just do what comes natural, so if that looks like taking risks then that's how you see it.
To us, there's no risk, it's just music. The whole point of Sabïre from the beginning was to play the music that naturally came out and have the confidence to present it to the world saying "this is mine, and no one else's ." 💿 You come from Canada but from some years you're based in Australia. Can you tell us somethin’ about the birth of the band? Sabïre started in Canada at the very end of 2010. I was in my bedroom playing along unplugged to Tank's "T.W.D.A.M.O." and I realised all at once that I needed a place to put my own creativity. The song I was playing along to was fully feeling-orientated and I thought to myself, "I do this sort of playing at home when I'm by myself and don't put it into the bands I'm in.
That does it, I'm making my own little personal band that plays only what I come up with when I pick up an instrument, and it's name will be 'Sabire.'" Back then, there was no umlaut over the "i." I put that in a few years later because people in Canada kept pronouncing the name "Sah-Buyer" instead of "Sah-Beer." So now, the name looks cooler and is phonetically correct, yet still people get it wrong. You can't win! There was a lineup back in Canada for a short while, then a half lineup in Australia until that went away. I ended up doing it all myself, which took time. Overall, it took an absurdly long time, but it did come together in the end, and here we are.

💿 GATES AJAR, you're first EP, was out firstly digital as a self release, and next as a cassette, cd and vinyl. There's a great return of format such as vinyl. What's your thinking about these classic format..love for vintage or is it impossible a future for music outside digital? I actually thought no one wanted CD's. How wrong I was! I think that people, including myself, are over the whole digital music thing. I think that digital was a novelty and convenience that has run its "mania phase" and people now are really getting back into buying physical music, especially CDs. Streaming is different. It's a great tool of convenience, but not a satisfying experience. 💿 You work with different label, No Remorse Records and Skol Records. Can you see for a SABÏRE a future with a major without affecting on your style and authenticity? I would like to think so. I'm open to most things, but that being said I have a longterm plan with Sabïre that has been in the making for a long time. I would not want anyone to compromise that vision on whatever level that may be. 💿 Inside your songs what’s the role of lyrics in the composition process? Words follow music or vice versa? Either way, actually. Sometimes, I'll have a riff written with a vocal melody that will be on the shelf for years, then finally match it with lyrics I write years later. Sometimes, and this happens often these days, the entire song music and lyrics comes to me at once in my head. From there, it's a simple matter of re-creating the music I had thought of and getting it into physical sound.

💿 Can you tell us somethin’ about your live plans? Confirmed the 4-piece line up? I won't be saying anything at this point other than we will be doing a few special shows next year. Keep your eyes open. 💿 Obviusly, after the first starter, we're all in waitin’ for a full-length! We all know that you have a large amount of songs ready? Can you tell us somethin' about? Yes we certainly do have a lot of songs in surplus. About 80+ actually, and counting! The full-length is in the works and it's name is "Jätt." I can only give you an excerpt from the accompanying epistle to give you an idea about what the album is going to be about. “December 11th 2018 Jätt: the Streckish word for Hell. Aptly fitting for this album’s title. The songs in collection here express in general, a feeling of discomfort, some more severe than others. Discomfort at its extreme is hell. Hell is more than a location, it is a state of mind, an emotion, and in some cases, a way of life". 💿 Thank you so much for your time! See you soon on Hardrockheavymetal!
