2019: AN YEAR OF NWOBHM on Hardrockheavymetal!

Our readers know that we don’t love charts and scores, so we want simply talk about of some best news in NWOBHM’s movement throughout this ending year, with the certainty of forgetting somebody or somethin’..and we apologize all the same for this!

It was the year of the return of DIAMOND HEAD with new album COFFIN TRAIN, the first out via SILVER LINING MUSIC; fancy and well groomed, surely a band in best shape.

Another gem was ANGEL OF LIGHT by ANGEL WITCH, out on METAL BLADE, available in several format (I hope you chose the gorgeous but expensive box set), hoping not to wait again seven years for a new platter.

The level is always high with AT THE GATES by STEVE GRIMMETT’S GRIM REAPER and WIN LOSE OR DRAW, by SALEM UK, both out on DISSONANCE PRODUCTIONS.

On danish TARGET GROUP were out a new EP entitled LOUD AND PROUD by BLITZKRIEG, in waitin’ for the heir of awesome JUDGE NOT and the fancy RITUAL by TYGERS OF PAN TANG.

Three new album by brilliant german PURE STEEL: the awesome GHOSTS OF WAR by WEAPON UK, one of our favs, A NEW WORLD by mighty MILLENIUM, and THE COURT OF THE INSANE by relentless SACRILEGE.

To remind a great live by PRAYING MANTIS recorded in Milan at FRONTIERS ROCK FESTIVAL 2018, and two amazing returns, or better, debut album after many years by STORMCHILD and and more rockin’ SNATCH BACK.

We had the chance for a new gem by HOLOCAUST, ELDER GODS, for the return of the Turner sisters of ROCK GODDESS with smart THIS TIME, for a new platter by solid BLACKMAYNE.

New job by ANDRO COULTON with its MALLEUS, new EP and a great anthology by strong TROYEN and new EP too by SOLDIER.

To reminds, in a sea full of reissues, sometimes great sometimes less, the new one by great MEDUSA TOUCH and by NAZARETH and DON AIREY solo band singer, CARL SENTANCE, with a combo that includes two album with loved moniker of PERSIAN RISK.
