💿 Hi, it's a pleasure for us to have on Hardrockheavymetal Jessie Santos of the band FALL!! You're Welcome!! Thanks for the interview! 💿 "THE DREAMER OF TRAGEDY", your new EP, is "hot'n'ready" and will be available from Dec 21st! Can you tell us somethin'about its composition process and style? We have the privilege to listening to it in preview and we were impressed!
First off - thanks for the opportunity to chat with you guys about our new material. We're very glad you like it.
The composition of these songs was more of a collaboration between us.
We'd been writing, jamming and gigging together for quite some time and the process went along very smoothly.
Once we got the songs into the studio and hearing them come to life in a top notch studio - it then came together even more so. As far as style - we took a more introspective approach to the music while trying to maintain our melodic death roots.
Influences from bands like Katatonia, Insomnium and the likes we're a huge influence during the writing process. 💿 Can you tell us somethin' about the birth of the band? Which bands influenced you? It started as a solo project back in 2010 with me writing the song To Dust.
Few months pass and I get a couple friends to jam with so I could make this project a live-band. Fast-forward almost nine years, some line up changes, two EP's and an album and here we are. Back then, Strapping Young Lad, Gojira and Soilwork we're very influential on our sound and I think our first album really encapsulates that. 💿 This new EP is a self-release. Achance to be totally free? Yes, self-released all the way. We'll be charging a small price for the EP and supporters of the band have the option to adjust what they pay on our Bandcamp page. Fall1.bandcamp.com 💿 The real news in music industry is the return of vinyl. What's ypur opinion about this classic format and the current "music business"? I think it's really cool that vinyl has made such a strong comeback. The sound it provides is definitely more, for lack of a better word 'authentic'. We'd love to get some vinyl editions of our music in the near future. The music business today is a lot of DIY.
Whether that be gigging, keeping your social media presence relevant and always coming out with something (even if it's a meme haha) it all contributes to your music getting from your desktop to the ears of a potential fan. 💿 We love the cover of TODT!! Can you tell us somethin' about? Ah, that makes me happy to hear that. I wanted our art to be hand drawn this time around and I love attention to detail. The artist's name is Andi Soto. She's based out of Panama and I've followed her Instagram profile for about a year prior to hiring her for a commission piece. We traded ideas while I provided lyrics to gain insight into the direction of the art. What came out is something I'm incredibly proud of. Amazing artist! 💿 Can you give us any news about your next live projects? Are scheduled any gigs? We've got a couple gigs lined up at the beginning of next year: 1/4 San Antonio, TX - The Amp Room 1/5 Corpus Christi, TX - House of Rock We plan to gig a lot more this year so be on the lookout! 💿 Thank you so much for your time..See you soon on Hardrockheavymetal!
