ENIO VUCETA/BRANIMIR HABEK - SAGE

💿 Hi, It's a pleasure for us to have on Hardrockheavymetal ENIO VUCETA and BRANIMIR HABEK of SAGE!! Welcome!! Thank you for the opportunity to talk about what we do! We have a great pleasure of introducing Sage to everyone who would like to know more about our project .

💿 Can you tell us somethin' about early days of your career? When is this all begun? Which bands have influenced you?

It is a funny story that we have started recording songs before that we found our name! Then, we had to decide how we should name our band when the first song was presented to the public. We have started to work on this project about 5 years ago.

We immediately started working on our own songs - we have all been in different music bands before and as already formed musicians we have decided not to play other bands' songs but create our own music style and songs. First of the songs was "Rivers will be full of blood", then we wrote "Rebellion", and so on.. We don't actually have one or two bands as influence, but each of us brought his own vision of music - this is what helps us have our own, unique sound.

Each of us, of course, has his own musical influences, but there are too many to write down.

💿 "ANNO DOMINI 1573", your debut full-lenght, is hot'n'ready and will be out from Sept 21st!

Can you tell us somethin' about its compistion process? Are you satisfied about this platter? We have the provilege to listening to in preview and we were very impressed!

Anno Domini 1573 has been produced by Casey Grillo - former drummer from the American metal band Kamelot. Songs were mixed in Morrisound studios (Florida) by Jim Morris, and supervised by producer Casey Grillo.

Morrisound studios have also worked with bands such as Sepultura, Demons and Wizards, Iced Earth, Savatage etc. LP 'Anno Domini 1573' was recorded in JM Sound studio (Croatia) Thank you for the kind words about our album, that keeps us motivated to work even harder and try to reach new levels in everything we do.

The creation process was usually that one of us brought the main riff or the idea for the song, and we make the arrangements together until we are all happy with the music.

This ensures that each of us is part of the song creation process and all of us have a "touch" in the final song. Our front man, Dave, writes the lyrics that talk about the historic event of Peasants' Revolt of 1573 that happened in Croatia.

Even though this is the theme of the whole albums, the theme is actually evergreen and people can relate to it in the present as well - greed, injustice, repression, this is all something that we see in the news every day.

The thing that hurts us the most is that injustice is not right, no matter of the era and where it happens and we rebel against it in our own way.

The way the peasants fought against injustice was "grab what you can and fight", so our tool is our music and media.

This is the main motivator for this album and we hope we managed to send that message.

Our record label Rockshots Records we are going to release not just the audio album, but deluxe version as well that contains a DVD with 11 music videos (one for each of the songs).

This is something that we haven't seen before and is also the main reason for such a long time to have our album released.

The videos tell the story of the revolt and we recommend that edition to everyone who wants to enjoy the full experience and understand the album better.

We have included 4 live videos from our concert in "Tvornica" music venue in Zagreb that we played to our Croatian fans. 💿 The real news in "music industry" is the return of vinyl; what's your feeling about this classic format and the current "music business"? These days, vinyl seems to be popular, for collectors and audiophiles.

While the younger audience prefers digital and stream services. We are happy to see vinyl is coming back - it gives a special tone to the songs, the imperfection of the sound and the cracking noise can really pull you inside the music.

Our album isn't planned to be released in vinyl at the moment, but it's not crossed out for the future.

💿 Your new album will be out via ROCKSHOTS RECORDS; can you tell us somethin' about relationships with them? First of all we are very grateful to Rockshots Records and the people working there for appreciating our work and quality.

They have seen our videos on our Youtube channel and when we came into contact they already knew who we were - we didn't need special introductions which really pleasantly surprised us! We went to Torino to meet them in person, and really had fun!

They are a great record label and we have great cooperation.

Also, they know how to work with bands, and they understand our visions. We hope to have a fantastic future together. 💿 Can you tell us somethin' about your next live projects? We want to play in front of as many people as we can - we would like to play the big festivals like Wacken and similar. It is challenging to get to play in such events for such a young band (especially from a small country like Croatia) but we believe in what we do and that we will be recognised by the organizers.

Everything we did so far has close to no point if we don't play it live for people - it is for them that we make our music in the first place. 💿 Lastly, you come from CROATIA; can you tell us somethin'about your local metal scene? Our music scene is big, there are a lot of young bands, but the biggest issue is our language barrier - if you sing in Croatian it is very hard to get to the worldwide music scene.

There are about 4 million people living in Croatia so the marked is limited.

Nevertheless there are enough bands so the future of hard/heavy music is insured! 💿 Thank you so much for your time! See you soon on Hardrockheavymetal! Once again, thank you for giving us this opportunity! Stay heavy and Rebellion goes on!
