DREAD - TAYLOR DREAD & AD CAMARENA

💿 Hi, it’s a pleasure for us to have on Hardrockheavymetal TAYLOR DREAD and AD CAMARENA of DREAD! Welcome!!

Taylor Dread: Thanks for havin’ us, the pleasure is ours!

AD Camarena: Hell yeah, man! Feels good to be back on the attack!

💿 Can you tell us somethin’about your early days of your career? When is this all begun? Which bands have influenced you and what’s the matter of your moniker? TD: Well, this whole thing started back in late 2007-early 2008. The short story is I went to High school with AD, and I thought he was the coolest dude on the planet. Always with a

Pretty girl, looked like a rock star, plus he played guitar better than anyone I’ve ever seen in My life, still does too, btw. No one can touch that fire. Anyways, I knew I had to be in a band With him, and long story short, when he heard me sing, that’s all it took! Dread was born.

AD: Yeah man, Taylor was the metal kid. He was funny as hell and he always tripped me Out. He always carried around the biggest stack of CD’s with him everywhere he went. He was always jammin’ sick stuff. When he sang for me for the first time, it was a done deal.

TD & AD: As far as the bands that influence us, it ain’t your run of the mill stuff you hear From most heavy metal bands. We love metal of all types, but the stuff that makes us Wanna shoot for the stars is Thin Lizzy, Billy Idol, Kiss, The Cult, Armored Saint, Judas Priest, Loudness, Ratt and LA Guns to name a few.

TD: As far as the name of our band, ain’t nothin’ deep there, Dread was a name I came up With and kept since I was 12 years old, and it sounds good, easy to remember and is short Enough to have a bitchin’ logo, and AD created the one you all know now.

💿 Your new album “FROM THIS WORLD TO THE NEXT” is ready. Can you tell us about its composition? Are you satisfied about this platter? We’re very impressed..

AD: Man, thank you. Means a lot to us you dig it, we put our hearts and souls into it. The Album comes out for everybody on June 1st. We are super satisfied and proud of this one. Me n’ Taylor just said “fuck it, let’s do what we wanna do and just make a record full of things we love. We actually wrote the whole thing in under three months, living in Different states, sending each other rough recordings of riffs via phone back and forth. Then, we met up, recorded a demo, and practiced a few times and then hit the studio. No long, planned out ideas of a reunion.

TD: Yeah man, the whole thing was a passion driven project. We both got so immersed in The music that it just came out. “Tyrants of Demise” was literally written in 24 hours, and The first time we played it was when we were recording the demo!

💿 The real “news” in music industry is the return of vinyl; What’s your feeling about this classic format and the current music “business”?

AD: Can’t love Rock N Roll and Heavy Metal without loving vinyl! Vinyl rules!

TD: The music business of today is what it is. Has it’s pro’s and con’s, but I’ll be Goddamned if it ain’t a good time to be alive and into heavy metal!

💿 Eight years from BRACE FOR DESTRUCTION..Why so much time for a new album?

TD: Well, to be honest with you, I was the biggest reason for such a long time between Albums. There were a lot of straws on the Camel’s back, but I was the straw that broke it. I was heavily into alcohol and drugs, cocaine specifically, and I was what led to our Eventual break up, and that stunted our chances the first time around. I guess I needed To do some soul searching, figure out what I loved more, the booze, broads and drugs, or The music. I checked myself into rehab in 2011 and have been sober ever since, six years t To be exact. Now, we finally are back and ready to rock.

AD: Yeah man, I think we all just needed to learn how to grow up. Life happens, and you Will be placed in situations where you really learn a lot about what’s important. And I Think that’s what happened with us. Me and Taylor always knew we’d get back to it, we Didn't know when or where at the time, but we knew in our souls we’d come together Again. We have a special chemistry together. Wether your listening to our album or gettin’ Charged by our live show, there’s no doubt we’re an unstoppable force when we’re Together. Get outta the way, or get rolled on, cause either way, we’re gunnin’ for ya!

💿 Can you tell us somethin’about your next live projects? Are scheduled any gigs?

TD: Well, our first official comeback show will be on June 22nd, apart of the Los Angeles Stikefest in DTLA. We’ll be slayin’ alongside many great bands including our buds Blade Killer, Pounder, Demon Bitch, Dekapitator (who’s reuniting) and the almighty Nasty Savage. That fest will be killer, Exciter, Razor, Morbid Saint! Crazy.

💿 We love the cover of your album..Who made it?

AD: It was done by Mario Lopez. I saw his work he did for King Diamond and Iron Maiden and just knew this was the guy who’d be able to bring our vision to life. Love That guy’s work! One of the best of the new school hands down.

💿 Thank you so much for your time! See you soon on Hardrockheavymetal!

TD & AD: Thank you as well! You guys rule and we’ll be seein’ ya soon! Rock n roll!
