TREVOR -TREVOR AND THE WOLVES

💿 Hi, it’s a pleasure for us to have on Hardrockheavymetal TREVOR, well-known singer of cult death metal band SADIST! Welcome!

TREVOR: Hi guys, thanks for the opportunity. Trevor and the Wolves is my solo project, but I’m always the Sadist’s singer. The bands are much different, Trevor and the Wolves is a hard rock band.

It's been a long time, I started playing about thirty years ago. I was a young boy attracted by metal, from all the bands that made the genre famous.

💿 Can you tell us somethin’about your early days of your career? When is this all begun? Which bands have influenced you?

TREVOR: I started playing thirty years ago, together with three other friends, none of us was able to play, when you start you feel like a big boy, but let's say that the technique was missing. I lived in the eighties, probably the best for heavy metal there was a great desire, a lot of passion, we were many metalkids, there were vinyls, tapes, every situation was good to meet us talking about the last album released .

I was born and raised in a small mountain village, going to Genoa in the center to buy a new album was a fixed stage in the week.

My activity as a singer has started in my country with three friends, one of them is no longer there, it was my first guitarist, when they decided for personal reasons not to play anymore, my desire was always the same I wanted to sing extreme metal and so I decided to go to Genoa, the opportunities were different. After having played in some band, with one of these I was lucky enough to record a mini cd in Tommy Talamanca's studios, between me and Tommy there was immediately a great feeling, Tommy was positively impressed by my voice and my image for this reason he decided I had to be the Sadist singer. From then on, my passion turned into a job, and today I thank Tommy for that decision.

Like all metalkids I started with the great bands of the past AC/DC, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and then Saxon, Motorhead, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, this was the departure for each of us. I'm happy to have entered this crazy world, I could not live without metal! This was absolutely the beginning, then there was the arrival of thrash metal and later death metal. I've always been tied to aggressive sounds, bands like: Slayer, Megadeth, early Metallica, Testament, Pantera, Sepultura were the soundtrack of my life, as well as the great death metal bands in the early nineties: Death, Carcass , Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Obituary.

This is a beautiful world, pure art and culture.

💿 From February 2nd is out a new album called ROAD TO NOWHERE, with the moniker TREVOR AND THE WOLVES..Can you tell us somethin’about this platter and its composition process? We had the privilege to listening to it and we’re very satisfied! We feel that you were having great times recording it!

TREVOR: It was a long time since I wanted a project of my own, I wanted to give free rein to my feelings.

Sadist represent my life for over twenty years is something that I would never be able to deprive myself, but as they say one thing does not exclude the other.

The nature that surrounds me and the friendship with the members of the band has pushed me to put this project on hold that certainly can be considered: genuine, direct and damn rock'n'roll! The music reflects the canons of hard'n'heavy, I find the mix between the riffs and my voice is curious, it is an encounter between two realities.

The wolf is a wonderful animal, its return to our mountains makes me happy, I hope that man and animal can coexist, its wild nature reflects my voice, instinctive and aggressive.

When I thought about this album in the first place my intention was to make the journey with musicians who before being technically prepared to be friends, the choice of "My Wolves" has indeed fallen on great friends, with whom I share much of my free time.

Francesco Martini is a young guitarist, technically very prepared, enthusiastic about nature, I am sure he will do a great career, the same words are valid for Emanuele Peccorini, the first time I saw him behind the skins I thought "he will be my drummer" for Alberto Laiolo and Antonio Aluigi, respectively guitar and bass, making this journey together was a must, they are old friends, musicians who do not spare, both above and below the stage, this was what I was looking for and I can feel more than satisfied.

Trevor and the Wolves is my project that I wanted to share with my loved ones. The mixing and mastering recordings have been edited by Tommy Talamanca, the relationship between me and Tommy goes far beyond friendship.

The photo sessions by Ennio Parodi, while the video clip of "Burn at Sunrise" by Matteo Siri, they are great friends and professionally flawless, both have done a great job.

The graphics, on the other hand, were created by Eloisa Parodi and Manuel Del Bono, two young talents.

Returning to the band my intention is to play live, absolutely, and they will be the musicians to accompany me on stage too. I'm happy to know that you liked the album, it is a genuine album, true, and I do not hide it, during the recordings we had a lot of fun, the passion must always be lived with a nice atmosphere.

💿 The real “news” in music industry is the return of vinyl; What’s your feeling about this classic format and the current music business?

TREVOR: The luck of our kind has always been the one that we are all always tied to the physical product.

Certainly compared to years ago it is increasingly difficult to sell records, it would be stupid to say the opposite, however compared to other genres, metal and rock in general still manage to hold on.

The return of vinyl is a good thing, I'm very attached to vinyl, I jealously keep many records of the seventies / eighties and nineties.

We really hope he can make the vinyl and that the guys start to listen to the music carefully, condoning the records, reading the lyrics, spending days talking about their favorite bands. 💿 You’re involved in so many roles in music world.. Which parts you feel fitting better to you?

TREVOR: It 's true, you're absolutely right, I'm engaged in different roles, working with music means taking care of more things, it would be difficult in our country but not only to think of living only with the activity of death metal singer.

Already at the beginning of Sadist I decided that I wanted to work in the msucia and for this reason we decided together with Tommy that our life would be this. It is as difficult as for any other company, absolutely, but one thing is certain this is our world and I could not think of doing anything else.

In my thirty years of activity I did and do many things, currently besides playing with Sadist and Trevor and the Wolves, I curated three radio sections, I write for some magazines, and obviously I work for Nadir Music, as promoter, press office and promotion for bands, festivals, clubs.

In the past I worked as a Rock TV speaker and artistic director for some clubs. I can not say what is the most suitable role, one thing is certain, what I prefer is to go on stage in front of my people. 💿 Can you tell us somethin’about SADIST..All fans are in waitin’ for some studio or live news!

TREVOR: Sadist fans can rest assured, we're working on the new album, it's still too early to talk about the release date, but I think it will be out next fall.

We want to make a good record and this takes time, ideas, there is no hurry, what matters is to make a record up to the level, without worries or stress on the part of the label.

Sadist has never been a band from a record a year and we will never be, especially today.

Regarding playing live I think that now I expect the release of the new album and then resume the live activity. Today we are in the process of writing songs, the processes are still long even if we are working well. 💿 Thank you so much for your time! See you soon on Hardrockheavymetal!

TREVOR: Thanks to you and all the staff of Hardrockheavymetal passion is very important for all of us, as I always say together we continue to keep this beautiful thing alive, called Metal

A hug to all of you and the readers, and as always ... Horns up and Stay Brutal!!
