MARCO POLIANI - SLABBER

💿 Hi, it’s a pleasure for us to have on hardrockheavymetal MARCO POLIANI, guitarist of well-known HEAVY METAL band from Milan SLABBER ! Welcome! Hello hardrockheavymetal and thanks for this interview! 💿 Can you tell us somethin’about your early days of the band.. When is this all begun? Can you tell us somethin’about the birth of your band’s name and, lastly, which bands have influenced you? Slabber formed back in 2015 after the previous band called Rapid Fire. Our music is like a “kick in the face”, made of solid and powerful guitar riffs and histrionic vocal lines.

Often, bpm time runs fast and drumming is very pounding. “Slabber” has a lot of meanings but none of those concern about its birth. For us, “Slabber” is an italian language distortion of “Slabbrato”. About our infuences, we play pure heavy metal! No epic, no power, no gothic, no industrial, no nu metal.

Slabber is just HEAVY METAL and we really believe in what we do (but none of us is fanatic).

We all have a family and a parallel life 'cause, unfortunately, we don't live playing music. 💿 It’s out your new full-length called “COLOSTRUM”. Can you tell us somethin’about this platter and its composition process? Oh yeah! “Colostrum” is our first release and we're very proud of it! In less than two years we created this band and this album: music, lyrics and recording too (@ Elnor Studio by Mattia Stancioiu). We all have a lot of passion so that we wanted to give off. Firstly, it all begins by a guitar riff and then we work toghter on all music arrangement. “Colostrum” is the first maternal milk but for us it means a new heavy metal band birth: SLABBER!

💿 The real “news” in music industry is the return of vinyl; What’s your feeling about this classic format and the current music business? Onestly, I'm not a “digital man” and I don't believe in today's music business, in fact we made a self-release. I hope something will change in the imminent future...I like vinyl, physic cd and a booklet where reading lyrics! Maybe I'm old...or not a young man anymore :) 💿 The new album is a self-release. Is it an own choice to have full liberty? We love chains but only heavy metal chains. We don't play for music business, only for love! So we prefer full liberty and full royalties for our music. No labels compromise at the moment. This is actually a Slabber choice. 💿 Can you tell us somethin’about your next live projects? Are scheduled any gigs?

We are already working for a new album...we got fertile minds 😄. About live projects, Slabber shows are very fast. We play all about Colostrum, 38 minutes! No covers and no bis! We can play new songs too...so that we can reach over an hour. Actually, no gigs are scheduled but recenly we played in live clubs around Milan. 💿 Lastly, Can you tell us somethin’about the cover of “COLOSTRUM” ? Who made it? A really good job!

Thank you so much! Cover art is by Yan, an Indonesian designer. We really like his style! The child depicted in the drawing is my son. You have to know that during the recording session, my girlfriend was pregnant and we did an ultrasound...so that we said: “Why not?” This could be the idea for the cover art!
