💿 Hi, it's a pleasure for us to have on Hardrockheavymetal DEE WRATHCHILD, HEAVY METAL band SACRED LEATHER! Welcome! Thank you for having us. 💿 Can you tell us somethin'about your early days? When is this all begun? Which bands have influenced you? Sacred Leather has been a band for around four years or so. Over those four years, we created this beast from the ground up. The early days consisted of some member changes and all-around evolution, however our mission to deliver red hot HEAVY METAL has remained true. The common through-line amongst each band member is their love of classic rock n' roll and HEAVY METAL. Each of us agree that these eras produced the best music of all time. Sacred Leather chooses to resurrect the spirit of our HEAVY METAL forefathers by rockin' in the old way. Our influences should be evident to any metal purist. We are definitely inspired by specific bands from the late 70's – mid 80's, however we believe that we bring a sound that is uniquely our own. A continuation from where those great bands left off. 💿 We're in waitin' for your (finally!) first full-length called "ULTIMATE FORCE", out from February 23rd. Can you tell us somethin'about this platter and its composition process? We had the privilege to listening to this album in preview and we were really very impressed! Thank you, glad you dug it. Yeah so, we've been working on Ultimate Force for a little over two years. Sacred Leather wanted to create a record which was void of any filler. We believe we have accomplished just that. Ultimate Force takes the listener on a ride through a gamut of different flavors while retaining its focus. We are extremely happy with how it turned out. Ultimate Force was produced by our lead guitarist JJ Highway. JJ composed much of the album's material in addition to structuring its arrangements. We recorded this record at Earth Analog in Tolono Illinois late last year.Â
Carloff Blitz (lead guitar) manned the boards and mics during this process. The result is a completely self-generated expression of our material. When the listener spins Ultimate Force, they are hearing a true representation of Sacred Leather and the sonic vision we possess.

💿 The real "news" in music industry is the return of vinyl; What's your feeling about this classic format and the current music business? Vinyl is great. It is our preferred medium for music consumption. Personally, I would attribute the return of vinyl to people's hunger for something tangible. In an age where music and film primarily exists in digital formats, vinyl is something real that you can hold. The scaling of the artwork, the liner notes, lyrics, promo photos, etc... are all highlighted best on an lp. Additionally, the sound is much more rich and imperfect. No two copies of Ultimate Force on wax will sound EXACTLY the same. Subsequently, I believe that people are craving that relationship with their music again. The current music industry is both capitalizing on people's short attention spans and following the money. A large portion of people (at least in the states) do not require substance and longevity from their music. Sacred Leather don't feel this way. Singles are cool and we respect the hustle of creating a radio hit, however we are full album dudes. If you pressed any true music lover on the matter, they would tell you which album changed their life well before they would rattle off a list of forgotten singles and trends. Sacred Leather created Ultimate Force to give metal lovers the timelessly classic HEAVY METAL record they haven't received in quite some time. 💿 The new album will be out via CRUZ DEL SUR MUSIC, involved with many US NWOTHM bands. Can you tell us somethin'about the relationships with them? Cruz is a kickass label. They genuinely love traditional metal and sign the current bands who play it. For Sacred Leather, authenticity is important. We live this HEAVY METAL shit, it is the air we breathe. It is nice being on a label that stands behind the sound we are doing and loves the same bands that influence us.

💿 What do you think about the renewed interest for Classic/Traditional HM? Love for "vintage" or a new golden era? Anyway I believe that it's magic this remade interest for this kind of music! Honestly wasn't aware of a renewed interest in Classic/Traditional HEAVY METAL. In the states, we see an abundance of bands paying homage to the slow 70's sound by relying on drop tuning to sound heavy. Sacred Leather aim to rock faster and harder than them. We want to give the audience the visual/palpable component that so many of these bands ignore. The fact is - these are fucked up times, which heightens the demand for distraction. Everybody is being hit over the head with politics and trivial drama with regularity. Sacred Leather exists outside of those confines. When you listen to Ultimate Force or see us live, we hope that you are enveloped in the world we have created. This experience harkens back to a better time and provides audio/imagery to remove you from your daily tribulations. 💿 Can you tell us somethin'about your next live projects to promote the new album? Nothing live has been announced, but we have some stuff in the works. Make sure to keep a tab on our social media for any news and announcements! facebook.com/leathersacredleather

💿 Lastly, Can you tell us somethin'about the cover of "ULTIMATE FORCE" Who made it? A really good job! Appreciate it. The artwork for Ultimate Force was created by our bassist Magnus Legrand. This artwork depicts a panther which is navigating through a post-apocalyptic hell-scape. The concept sets the visual backdrop to the album while referencing the adversity the band has faced leading up to this point. Magnus set to create an experience for the listener where both the imagery and audio of the record help to bolster one another. Additionally, we wanted the artwork to resonate as an instant classic, which we believe was accomplished. Many of our HEAVY METAL predecessors have released album covers which grabbed you and stuck in your head as iconic imagery. We hope thatUltimate Force does the same. 💿 Thank you for your time! See you soon on Hardrockheavymetal! Sacred Leather is here to stay. You can count on us to raise the bar with each new endeavor. We will continue to deliver our breed of high-level HEAVY METAL, forged in the traditional format. We are Sacred Leather, We are the ULTIMATE FORCE! Cheers Maniacs!Â
