💿 Hi, It’s a pleasure for us to have on Hardrockheavymetal JACKIE CHAMBERS, guitarist of NWOBHM legends GIRLSCHOOL and now involved in new project, SYTERIA! JAX : Thanks, it's my pleasure 💿 We’re in waitin’ for the new album “Rant-o-boot".. Can you tell us somethin’ about this new platter? JAX : The debut album is a collection of songs that I've been writing over the years. Most of the songs are rants about things going on in the world right now, so that gave me plenty of material to work with. Songs like New World Order encompasses almost everything and I still could have written another few verses more. There are some more positive songs on there too which aren't just complaining and doom and gloom...lol 💿 Can you tell us somethin’ about the birth of this project? JAX : Yes I put together Syteria so that I was constantly playing, recording, writing with no breaks, Girlschool were doing less shows than I actually wanted to do so it made sense at the time but then of course we suddenly got busy so Syteria was put on hold temporarily, we recorded a Xmas single at that time just to introduce ourselves ready for the new year ahead. We then launched a pledge campaign and recorded our debut EP 'Wake Up'. We've also recently recorded our debut album which is due for digital release this month and will be released on a physical format very soon too. 💿 It's out the 1st clip called "I'm all Women".. a fresh track..Are freshness and energy the trademarks of this project? JAX : Yes we do play with a lot of energy and enthusiasm, we all love what we do and that comes across in our music. It was one of the first songs I wrote for this project and the pledgers voted it for it to be the first video from the album that they wanted to see. 💿 The real news in music industry is the vinyl’s return; what do you think about this classic format? Is it provided for this work? JAX : I personally love Vinyl and knew we had to have some pressed. That feeling of holding a product in your hands when you've made it, the smell of the print and being able to actually have something to read and see, I love it . The only problem with Vinyl is that there aren't enough pressing factories around now as they all shut down when CD's came into fashion, so we have had to wait months for it to come through...lol 💿 Can you give us some info about your next gigs? We have seen a lot of dates scheduled.. JAX : Yes we are picking up a lot of interest now that we have an album out and a lot of great reviews. We all love playing too so would do as many gigs as we could, we would love to be on tour permanently and of course but that will come about eventually. We are mainly performing at festivals for now, building a following and just getting out there but intend to do some headline shows too as soon as possible. 💿 Lastly, a question about GIRLSCHOOL..Is it time for a new record? JAX : Well we are still touring the last one but next yr for our 40th anniversary we are releasing a DVD so who knows what else could happen.
