Swedish band Vokonis is ready to unleash the 4th full-lenght, entitled ODYSSEY, on May 7th via THE SIGN RECORDS.

LET’S START FROM THE END: AN ALBUM YOU’LL APPRECIATE FOR VARIETY AND THE STRUCTURE, enriched by progressive, stoner and melodic vibes.

With a style that ranges from heavy riffage, face-melting layers of fuzz, and gritty, howling vocals to utterly clean, dreamlike soundscapes, they aim to completely immerse you in their songwriting. As you share a psychedelic and thrilling journey Vokonis will have shown their range from full- blown doom to melodically blissful passages.

After the release of their latest album “Grasping Time”, Vokonis immediately went into crafting more material.

Dinamically different compared with previous albums, with more choruses and the addition of guest musician Per Wiberg (Opeth, Spiritual Beggars, Kamchatka) on keyboards, "Odyssey" sets itself apart from everything the band has released before.

More aggressive guitars, roaring and distorted bass, blasting drums along with mellotron and organs, Odyssey is Vokonis' first true prog-record.

They start with REBELLION, the shorter song of the platter with a huge impact; sharp riffing, vocals with different solutions, enhanced by dynamic drums and roaring bass, and also stoner elements.

The title track starts with a 70’s mood, thanks to organ, progressive and dark, turned into somethin’ more rhythmic and sharper, with scratching vocals.

The following BLACKENED WINGS is so various, moving itself between melodic moments and blackened vocals, within a complex structure and a solo part well-groomed.

Contemporary progressive vibes in next AZURE, where dynamic drums are enhanced by pounding bass lines and charismatic vocals.

They go on with HOLLOW WATERS and THROUGH THE DEPTHS, a song with a duration of more then 12 minutes, where they’re able to express themselves showing’ different faces.

AN ALBUM TO SUGGEST WITHOUT HESITATION!!
