North Italian band SANDNESS is ready to unleash on May 20th, 2022 on Rockshots Records its fourth studio album entitled “Play The Part”.

The album follows their two previous records released on Rockshots Records, 2020 EP “Enter Please (2020) and 2019 LP “Untamed”.

The new album is produced, mixed and mastered by Michele Guaitoli and will feature twelve original tracks including a bonus cover version of KISS classic unmasked era’s “Turn On The Night”.

Let’s start saying that this new platter is different from previous releases; due to the lockdown they had more time to work on songs. Surely you can feel “a more mature” sound, thanks to a lot of work with producer, and less direct tracks.

Is this a quality or a defect?

The new album is inspired by different styles: hard rock, rock, RNR but shows also some pop elements and sometimes they loose, throughout their 12 songs, their live attitude.

They start with HIGH TIDE and we love them; the mood is right; all works great, catchy when it needs, the guitar’s solo is effective.

IN TODAY TONIGHT and SOMEONE SO BAD they’re easier, more positive with the right dose of melody; also NO FILTER is right, a song that grows second after second.

SUPERNOVA is a step behind, after a great start, while ALL I’VE LEARNT is a more thoughtful track that with time pick up the pace.

After BE THE ONE, GIVE IT ALL shows more pop elements, struggling to emerge except in isolated patches.

They go on with LIGHTS ON and THE ONE WHO TRICKED.., which you’ll appreciate; while BAD COMPANY, more rockin’ and rhythmic, and brilliant GO WITH THE FLOW ends in the best way a great album with some shade.

ANYWAY, A BAND TO FOLLOW! SANDNESS ROCKS!!
