MORDRED released new album 'The Dark Parade', on M-Theory Audio, on July 23rd, 2021, the first full-lenght in over 25 years.

The record is available on CD, digital, cassette and vinyl.

Outside of their 2015 single “The Baroness,” “Volition” is marked as the first new MORDRED music since the band’s 2013 reunion.

These four songs saw the group’s return to the scene with energy and its trademark sound.

“The Dark Parade” is the continuation of the aural momentum that MORDRED regained on “Volition” and showcases a band that sounds as fresh now as they did during their initial decade of existence.

MORDRED was formed in 1984, growing in the Bay Area thrash scene, showing alternative and hip-hop influences.

That combination of thrash metal and exploratory funk powered three full-lengths and an EP on Noise Records between 1989 and 1994: their revered debut “Fool's Game”; their sophomore follow-up “In This Life”; the “Vision” EP and their final “The Next Room.”

In addition to spending their 2020 releasing “Volition” and putting the finishing touches on “The Dark Parade,” MORDRED also entertained audiences throughout the year with their streaming variety show and concert series, “MORDRED: Acting The Fool!”.

Eight songs in this new platter; the first shot is DEMONIC #7, opened by an instrumental part followed by a thrash attack and enhanced by a solid rhythm section.

A groovy song , with great vocals and a brilliant solo helped by turntable scratch.

MALIGNANCY provides various solutions with more melodic passages, while I AM CHARLIE is another ace.

They go on with DRAGGING FOR BODIES, our favorite track, which shows also more thoughtful moments, and the title-track, a very distinctive song.

ALL EYES ON THE PRIZE is punky at times, followed by DENTED LIVES, maybe a step behind.

The last shot that ends in the best way this long-awaited comeback, is SMASH GOES THE BOTTLE, where scratch, bluesy drops and hard rock live in perfect harmony.
