Out two days ago, EMERALD EYES is the 4th full-lenght by IRON ANGEL and the second after the long hyatus.

The mood of the band is the same..a great blend of old school speed metal, classic metal and power thrash.

Led by singer DIRK SCHRÖDER, mastermind since milestone HELLISH CROSSFIRE out in 1985, after great HELLBOUND, EMERALD EYES is brilliant too, despite genre’s main musical characteristics don’t provide many varieties.

The fist shot is SACRED SLAUGHTER, strong and pressing, helped by dynamic drums and driving bass lines, scratching vocals and effective solo parts.

More classic next DESCEND, a mad run with stunning solo parts and great entanglements between vocals and backing vocals.

SANDS OF TIME provides a great sound carpet, powerful and squared, followed by groovy DEMONS, maybe a step behind.

WHAT WE’RE LIVING FOR shows both musicality and power and classic teutonic vibes, truly one of our favorite.

Brilliant too the title track, followed by FIERY WINDS OF DEATH.

Maybe the platter loses something in the latter part, despite SACRIFICED, BRIDGES ARE BURNING and HEAVEN IN RED are great songs.

DARK SORCERY is the ghost track which ends in the best way this great platter.

IRON ANGEL..OLD SCHOOL ALWAYS ALIVE AND KICKIN!!
