HYPERION was born in Bologna, awesome city in North Italy, in the last slice of 2015, providing Classic HM music, proud of the lesson of the masters of the genre but developing a deeply own style.

The band led by guitarist Davide Cotti, in 2017, produced its debut album “Dangerous Days”, followed by a two-records contract with Spanish FIGHTER RECORDS.

HYPERION began promoting the album sharing stages with Tarchon Fist, Rain, Black Phantom, among others.

At the beginning of 2019 the band began rehearsing and recording nine new tracks for their second fatigue, entitled “Into the Maelstrom”.

The cover artwork was drawn by official Iron Maiden and Star Wars artist Alberto Quirantes (Akirant Illustration), while mixing and mastering has been handled by Roberto Priori (DangerZone).

“Into the Maelstrom” will be out via Fighter Records in both physical and digital format on April 21st, 2020.

Nine songs in this new album opened by the title track, squared and powerful, with a a rich production; first solo is fast and technical and the structure is interesting.

NINJA WILL STRIKE is closer to traditional Hm roots of the band and shows solo parts again to remark; riffing is embracing, the rhythm section shows a dynamic attitude and all sounds good.

DRILLER KILLER widens the range, progressive at times and with sharper riffs, while THE MAZE OF POLYBIUS shows again a band self-confident.

FROM THE ABYSS is sinister and squared, lilting at times, with power gallops and solo parts again to remind.

Desire to experiment in BAD KARMA, while more regular seems FALL AFTER FALL.

Last two shots are the awesome THE RIDE OF HEROES, over 9mins lenght, a great trip between a start more thoughtful, classic riffs, an epic maiden’s touch and changes of time, without fear of risk, and BRIDGE OF DEATH, a classic ace which ends in the best way this great platter.
