HIGH DESERT QUEEN are an heavy rock band from Austin, TX, ready to unleash the debut full-lenght entitled SECRETS OF THE BLACK MOON on Oct 15th, 2021 on RIPPLE MUSIC.

Inspired by personal growth, nature and the search for peace of mind, 'Secrets of the Black Moon' finds the right balance between earth-rumbling grooves, heaviness, sun-drenched tones and the emotional force of vocals.

Formed in 2019 to an eclectic backdrop of influences, the foursome's sole aim was to make the kind of music they could file away on their own record shelves, among the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Elder, Lowrider, Alice in Chains, Tom Waits and The Allman Brothers, providing shows that never provide the same experience.

Relocating from Houston in 2020 to accommodate the talents of bassist Matt Metzger and drummer Phil Hook, singer Ryan Garney and guitarist Rusty Miller, the band tracked eight of those songs with Jeff Henson (Duel) at Red Nova Ranch studios in Austin, TX, with mixing and mastering handled by Swedish producer Karl Daniel Lidén (Lowrider, Crippled Black Phoenix, Greenleaf) at Studio Gröndahl in Stockholm.

From the galloping anthem "The Mountain vs The Quake" to the dark and soaring escape of "Skyscraper", this 8-track journey hit us with their personal style.

HEADS WILL ROLL shows doom vibes in the first slice, reminding somethin’ from stoner and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, helped by roaring bass and fancy guitar lines.

On the same way brilliant AS WE ROAM, with solo part to remark, and DID SHE, before interlude THE RISE opens abovementioned SKYSCRAPER.

Also more shaded vibes in WHEEL, while BURY THE QUEEN ends in the best way this great platter.
