BAND FRANCESCO MARRAS
ALBUM IT’S ME
LABEL Hell Tour Productions
OUT Sept 15th, 2022
OUR RATING 83/100
Francesco Marras is a well-known name on our pages, guitarist of #nwobhm band Tygers Of Pan Tang and Italian band Screaming Shadows.
On Sept 15th he’s going to release, for the Hard Rock Record Label Hell Tour Productions, a new solo album simply entitled"It's me!".
After releasing two instrumental solo records (“Black Sheep in 2011” and “Time Flies” in 2018), this time he decided to get involved not only as an author, composer, guitarist, bassist and producer, but for the first time, as a singer too.
Bodo Schopft, Michael Schenker's drummer, is a guest on a one track.
Let’s start from the end: We are impressed by his vocal talent..finally free to express himself.
An album without filler where Hammond and guitar support rhythm section fitting perfectly with Francesco's voice.
This platter is opened by MONEY TALKS, a brilliant song inspired by classic hard rock keyboards driven, followed by awesome TAKE MY HAND, where DEEP PURPLE meets first WHITESNAKE.They go on with with YOU SET MY HEART ON FIRE, followed by WE TAKE THE BLUE AWAY where in the background we can feeel some southern influences.
To remark solo parts in THE THRILL OF THE HUNT (a trademark of the whole platter), followed by brilliant LADY OF ICE.
IN THE NAME OF.. shows roaring Hammond and guitar and solo parts are again explosive; DO YOUR HEAR ME NOW is one of our favorite tracks.
Last two shots are EMBRACE THE SILENCE, with an organ intro that reminds the spirit of not forgotten Jon Lord, and CLOSER TO THE EDGE that ends in the best way this great platter that WE RECOMMEND!
