New album by #nwobhm cult band DESOLATION ANGELS entitled BURNING BLACK was out on Aug 26th, 2022 on SKOL RECORDS.

The first work after guitarist ROBIN BRANCHER parted ways with the band, starting a new project called DA Metal UK; anyway we can find his contribution on this album being present in the credits of seven tracks.

A great album, wider compared to the previous KING, while being anchored to their classic trademarks.

The first shot is LIVING A LIE, a classic song where Paul Taylor shines with his ready distinguishable vocals.

UNSEEN ENEMY is slightly faster and flows away nicely, while HYDRA is one of our favorite, reminding us vibes of early Saxon.

We love MOTHER EARTH, with its reflective lyrics, while WALKING ON WATER flows without leaving its mark.

If the title-track is a continuous crescendo, reminding epic mood of Tony Martin’s BLACK SABBATH’s era, EYES OF THE ASSASSIN is a guarantee, powerful and heavy.

You’ll appreciate classic STAND YOUR GROUND and BEST SERVED HOT, while SHE WALKS IN STARLIGHT, after an arpeggio’s intro and a great contribution by PAUL TAYLOR, is a more lilting and thoughtful song that ends an interesting album.
