BAND CROSSON

ALBUM ROCK N’ROLL LOVE AFFAIR

LABEL GALAXY RECORDS

OUT 27/3/2020

OUR RATING 81/100

Following the success of their appreciated 2018 album ‘Invincible’, CROSSON, from Australia, return with their new album Rock ‘N Roll Love Affair, out on Galaxy Records on March 27th. The album was once again mixed by U.S producer Duane Baron (Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue, Alice Cooper, Poison), mastered by Dave Donnelly (Aerosmith, KISS, Whitesnake) and engineered by Russell Pilling. Rock ‘N Roll Love Affair is a a great album with catchy, highly and addictive hard rock tracks.

The first shot is EVERYONE’S A STAR, a bit pomp in first slice, next more squared and with a touch of melody, all enriched by an inspired solo, both sparkling and embracing. GIVIN UP LIVING GIVING UP reminds us the vibes of 80’s hard rock, with vocals and backing vocals well-groomed.

Voices a cappella to open a smooth riff for a song with more honey in REST IN PEACE, while WE ALL NEED AN ENEMY, after an intro in solo, shows good musicality but in a wider context. More fun in WEAK AT THE KNEES (FOR A HOT BRUNETTE) - the title said all - with an electro-rock touch and in the title track. If YOU’RE THE REASON is maybe a step behind, the level is higher in MERRY GO ROUND and in the last tune BACK ON THE ATTACK, more direct and pressing in the first slice, next more pomp and enhanced by another guitar’s solo to remark.

TO SUGGEST..BRILLIANT..CROSSON IS ABLE TO BRING VIBES OF 80’S TO PRESENT TIME WITHOUT BEING DERIVATIVE!!
