ALBUM THE SYMBOL REMAINS

OUT Oct 9th, 2020
OUR RATING 85/100
When a band as BLUE OYSTER CULT is out with a new album, I believe that it’s already a pleasure that’s legends like this have again somethin’ new to say.
The Symbol Remains" certainly has its faults but is really truly good.
The first shot is “That was me” which provides an embracing riff before a central reggae break which introduces a great solo.
They go on with "Box In My Head", a classic rock song followed by “Tainted Blood", a brilliant and inspired track with great harmonies.
“Nightmare Epiphany" is country rock shuffle with several sweet melodies, while EDGE OF THE WORLD and THE MACHINE are a step forward.
“Train True (Lennie's Song)” shows tempo changes and style, while “The Return Of St. Cecilia" is a brilliant hard rock tune.
To remind the heavy “Stand up and fight” and "The Alchemist", maybe the more progressive episode, a six-minute monster, truly one of our favorite.
ANYWAY..A BAND IN BEST SHAPE..THEY HAVE MANY THINGS LEFT TO SAY IN THIS CONTEPORARY HARD ROCK SCENE!!
