BAND BLACK SUN
ALBUM SILENT ETERNITY (EP)
LABEL ROCKSHOTS RECORDS
OUT Sept 4th, 2020
OUR RATING 80/100
HaIling from Ecuador and well-known in South America for supporting bands like Judas Priest, Kreator, Firewind, Edguy and UDO, among others, HM trio Black Sun will be releasing their new EP "Silent Enemy" on Sept 4th, 2020, via Rockshots Records, which follows the band's three previous albums.
During the production of Black Sun's new material, the band parted ways with their longtime lead singer. Under the guidance of the EP's producer Nino Laurenne (Emma Winner – Finnish Grammy, Hevisaurus, Amorphis, The Rasmus), Black Sun found ways to complete the EP with guest singers on all the tracks.
We can find Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica), Lordi, Noora Louhimo (Battle Beast), Pasi Rantanen (Thunderstone), Elias Viljanen (Sonata Arctica ), Netta Laurenne (Smackbound), Jukka Pelkonen (Omnium Gatherum), Asim Searah (Wintersun/Damnation Plan), Topias Kupiainen (Arion), Henning Basse (Firewind), Petri Lindroos (Ensiferum / Norther) and JF Aguirre (JF Aguirre Project).
Four songs enriched by an instrumental intro, an outro and a 30” interlude.
RESIST, with Netta Laurence from SMACKBOUND as singer is a great shot, a mix of classic HM with more contemporary vibes, while TERROR ZONE, with HENNING BASSE of FIREWIND, is a strong teutonic p attack, son of UDO or Accept.
DARK MIRROR is a brilliant instrumental tune, where the band shows gorgeous solo parts, while STILL ALIVE is a great space for many guests involved.
SURELY INTERESTING, in waitin’ for a new full-lenght!
