Anthenora was a band founded in 1989 In North West of Italy, deeply influenced by classic HM and power HM masters.

The moniker of the band has been inspired by Dante Aligheri’s “Divina Commedia” (Inferno ch. XXXII), Anthenora is a frozen lake in Inferno (hell), where the betrayers of the homeland are punished.

In the nineties the band has released three demo-tapes: Bring me to Hell (1991), Heretical Symphonies (1994) and Demo’ns (1998), while from 1998 to 2002 Anthenora has been one known as Italian Iron Maiden tribute band, playing several shows in their Country.

In November 2002 the band was chosen by Nicko McBrain to join his “Total McBrain Damage” .

The great success and the deep feeling instituted with Anthenora led Nicko to repeat the tour in April 2003, June 2004 and in November 2004 in Italy and Greece.

In autumn 2002 the band released a new self-produced promo EP titled “The General’s awakening” ,

In september 2003 Anthenora come back to Remaster Studio to record their first full-lenght album “The Last Command”, a great example of classic heavy metal. “The last command” has been released the 22nd march 2004 by the spanish-german label Locomotive Records (www.locomotiverecords.com).

In 2005 the band recorded the 2nd full-lenght album titled “Soul Grinder” that has been released on 2006 by the Italian label not forgotten My Graveyard Productions.

In 2009 while the band started the recording session of the 3rd album: The Ghosts of Iwo Jima, composed, released again by My Graveyard Productions the next year.

Now the band is ready to unleash the new album MIRRORS AND SCREEN, available on PUNISHMENT 18 On Nov 27th, 2020.

After an intro the first shot is TIRESIAS, a great blend of classic HM and, with pressing drums, roaring bass and effective vocals, and musicality.

Sparkling and brilliant next ALIVE, followed by groovy 30th and more classic and squared DIGITAL FEELINGS.

FUNNY FRICKY KILLER shows more power HM vibes, while following BULLY LOVER is a classy song, maybe a bit repetitive.

We like LOW HERO, classic and powerful, and last WAR & PEACE, which ends in the best way this long-awaited return, pointed by LIKE, PETER PAN and NO..SO WHAT!?!

AN ALBUM TO SUGGEST..HOPING NOT IT WILL NOT BE LONG BEFORE WE HAVE A NEW ALBUM AGAIN!!
