BAND CORELEONI ALBUM CORELEONI II LABEL AFM Records OUT 27/9/2019 OUR RATING 85/100 CORELEONI, the band led by Gotthard guitarist and soul LEO LEONI, is ready to unleash their new album 'CoreLeoni II', out on September 27th via AFM Records.. We say "band" and not project because CORELEONI has a line up, two full lenght out, and play live! ..and we have the sensation that they're ready to next step, a full-lenght of all unreleased tracks. This second album provides, along with Gotthard songs from the early days, two brand new tracks and a cover of John Lee Hookers 'Boom Boom Boom'. CoreLeoni is a high class band consisting of Rainbow-singer and Lords Of The Black founding member and ex-singer Ronnie Romero, Hena Habegger (drums, Gotthard), Jgor Gianola (guitar, ex-Gotthard/U.D.O./Jorn Lande) as well as Mila Merker (bass, Soulline). Let's start sayin' that the production really hit us, so boombastic and powerful, and RONNIE ROMERO, no doubt, is one of the top player of the contemporary HARD'N'HEAVY scene, a real added value. We have the sensation that LEO really enjoyed playin' classic GOTTHARD with more bloody mood, surely proud of the early times of the band, before the commercial success, followed by mate HENA HABEGGER and Jgor GIANOLA, which has been part of Gotthard during the early days as well before he decided to move on to U.D.O. We can find a "second part of '80s WHITESNAKE" mood in songs such as covers of OPEN FIRE or LOVE FOR MONEY, more squared and direct in the cover of SHE GOES DOWN. I must admit that I prefer some versions of classic such as MOUNTAIN MAMA and MAKE MY DAY (and not only) to the originals!! QUEEN OF HEARTS and DON'T GET ME WRONG are two abovementioned brand new songs, the first a classic hard tune, the second less fast but with sharp riffs, that will not disappoint the expectations! THIS IS A TOP BAND, ready to see them live!
