BAND Haunt ALBUM IF ICARUS COULD FLY LABEL Shadow Kingdom Records OUT 2019 OUR RATING 87/100 Talking with mad friends that make possible Hardrockheavymetal project, we shared opinion that HAUNT and many bands out via SHADOW KINGDOM RECORDS are sort of comfort food..you always know what you'll find and surely it will be great! After EP "MOSAIC VISION" (we'll talk about it next week), this year was out the second full-lenght of the band led by TREVOR WILLIAM CHURCH, in my opinion to be listened only on vinyl. Another BEATIFUL trip of eight songs for 30 mins, surely sons of best hard rock tradition mixed with NWOBHM and traditional HM vibe. All is enhanced by great vocals of TREVOR, a real added value also in this platter. After great RUN AND HIDE, we appreciate more rockin' IT'S IN MY HANDS while COSMIC KISS is closer to classic metal. CLARION is a good mix, even if you can feel in the air the influence of THIN LIZZY. Here and everywhere solos are always effectives and fit perfectly with all tracks. In the Side B (how much we love sayin' SIDE A and SIDE B!!) CLARION is one of our fav shots, with their runaways and restarts, followed by stunning and "on fire" WINDS OF DESTINY. Last two songs are the title track, with its squared and cutting riffing, and anthemic DEFENDER which ends in the best way this great platter!
