'Songs for the Dead Live' is a must-have for every fan of KING DIAMOND and not only, and it's the clear example of the meaning of term HEAVY METAL: technical ability, stunning performance, passion.

King Diamond , Andy LaRocque and Mike Wead (guitars), Matt Thompson (drums) and Pontus Egberg (bass) provided ace instrumental, top execution and an unique environment.

You can feel same atmospheres between two shows featured in these DVD/Blue Ray.

The first one was an epic performance at the 2016 Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium, while the second shows a more intimate spectacle at Fillmore in Philadelphia, PA, US – in 2015.

In our opinion obviously the second venue provides somethin' magic that fits better, but, I repeat, it's only our opinion. The quality of photography is at high level and both concerts are really compelling.

As for the music itself, there's nothin to add about a masterpiece as ‘Abigail’ – which is played in its entirety here – and about evergreen such as “Sleepless Nights”, “Eye of the Witch” and the beautiful h “Halloween”, “Melissa” and “Come to the Sabbath”.

‘Songs for the Dead Live’ is the ultimate King Diamond concert experience available; this is a must-have for every heavy metal fan, not only King Diamond's disciples; we suggest the gorgeous box set, already shows on our pages.
