I wanna be totally honest with you: I'm so happy when I have the chance to listening band such as POWERGAME, heir of the best classic HM tradition! I'm sure there will be a future for our loved music. Founded in 2012 by singer and guitar player Matty, POWERGAME stands for pure passion for the NWOBHM and the band’s moniker was obviously taken from the Tokyo Blade song with the same title.
Following a demo called “Raw Heavy Metal” (2013) and the self-released album “Beast On The “Attack”, “Masquerade” marks the previous peak for the quartet from Germany.
In this great new platter, available via IRON SHIELD RECORDS next January, we can find the original recipe of every great traditional HM band, namely sharp riffs, twin guitar-leads, powerful bass, pressing drums and a large range of vocals.
There is no shortage of various solutions or ingredients, such as epic drops, backing vocals well groomed, changes of time, great instrumental runaways and, last but not least, stunning guitars' solo parts.
In FOR THOSE WHO DIED to be reported a riffing closer to eighties sound.
The song FINAL WARNING deals with the band’s mascot “El Demonio Negro”, a Mexican wrestler.
The drums on the album have been recorded by two drummers, KG (Lost World Order/Vyre) as well as Jörg Uken (Weckörhead, ex-Stormwarrior), in whose Soundldoge-studio parts of the other recordings and mix/mastering have taken place.
KG will remain a live-member of the band until further notice.
The last song is a stunning, faster and "metallized" cover of classic "BLACKOUT" of SCORPIONS.
