This is the first album by swedish band CANDLE with their epic metal, son of band as MERCYFUL FATE, but also of SAVATAGE and CIRITH UNGOL mixed with drops of classic metal.

After the great intro, right to create a suitable environment, THE SECRET starts only instrumental, with its power metal, enriched by epic shades and enhanced by well looked after vocals and full of various options.

LIGHT AT THE END is more lilting, a sinister-looking tune of a band that knows the lesson of KING DIAMOND.

FROZEN WITH FEAR is one step ahead, complex, almost "progressive" e with solo parts finally satisfying.

BETRAYAL is heavier, less sinister while DANCING LIGHTS goes on in the same way before developing itself in somethin'epic and grandiloquent.

EMBRACED BY DARKNESS is more progressive with a great solo in the last slice before NO PEACE FOR MY SOUL, more classic.

Almost seven minutes for VENGEANCE, that ends in the best way this album with its great changes of time.

LASTLY

A band which learned the lesson from the past but looking to the future! Interesting!.
