MARCO MENDOZA is a well-known name in HARD ROCK history, member of several iconic bands as THIN LIZZY, BLUE MURDER, WHITESNAKE, TED NUGENT, THE DEAD DAISIES and many more.

With this solo album we have the chance to reconfirm him as a complete musician and as a great singer.

VIVA LA ROCK is an album totally enjoyable, an album well-played with good songs and a lot of influences.

The title track is a single catchy and direct, a real classic HR tune and SUE IS ON THE RUN is on the same way, maybe reminding us somethin' from Aerosmith in seventies.

ROCKET ME is more pimp while SWEETEST EMOTIONS is more rhythm 'n' blues.

CHINATOWN is one of the two cover, the right tribute for THIN LIZZY, enhanced by contributions of two special guests, RICHARD FORTUS, with Marco Mendoza in THE DEAD DAISIES, and MIKE TRAMP on backing vocals, same label's fellow.

BURNER is a bit dark, maybe reminding us somethin' from first albums of BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION.

LOVE 2 YOU reveals funky soul of MM, the whole thing enhanced by Hammond played by JAY BOE.

LEATHER is surely the more melodic piece of the platter, with MM able to warm the place.

HEY BABY is another tribute, on this occasion to TED NUGENT, while LET IT FLOW is the proper and soft conclusion.
