SY DAVIES VC ANDY D'URSO GT STEVE COLLEY BG PAUL HOUSE DR It's a real pleasure listening to the new EP by TRAITORS GATE, one of the best cult underground band born in NWOBHM movement. The only official release in TG'S history is DEVIL TAKES THE HIGH ROAD, another EP published in 1985 via BRISTOL RECORDS; in 2016 High Roller Records had published a rich reissue with bonus tracks. This new work will be available in few weeks for download and on cd and maybe on vinyl for a short amount of copies. Let's start from the end: this ep is a big surprise, a work which presents a band with the heart in the past but viewing in the future with a smart and fresh sound. RETRIBUTION, the first track, starts with an epic intro before increasing the speed; the solo is long and various. More determined rhythms in the second track, the great DECEIVER; FALL OF THE GRACE is full of power but not forgetting the melody. EDGE OF DESTRUCTION, in our opinion, is the apex; an awesome track with continues changes of speed. The title track, with a 6 minutes duration, is the worthy end of a work that enjoyed us. Let's hope that will be (finally!) the main curse (a full-length) after this great appetizer!
